We Walk Together Launch Event: Teachings from Elders and Youth about Connection to Land, Water and Territory

July 15, 2025, 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm

Speakers: Dr. Evan Adams, Dr. Danièle Behn Smith, and Dr. Nel Wieman

Description: We Walk Together is a collaborative research project that brought together 54 Knowledge Keepers and youth from 22 First Nations communities across three of BC's five health regions to explore how connection to land influences health and wellness. Join us for this webinar with Dr. Evan Adams, Dr. Danièle Behn Smith, and Dr. Nel Wieman as they share key insights from the project and discuss the development of a connection to land indicator for First Nations in BC.

Led by the First Nations Health Authority and the BC Office of the Provincial Health Officer, the project aims to establish a new health indicator that reflects the connection to land, water, and territory, a factor not currently measured in existing BC health data.
