Vancouver Youth Climate Corp Town Hall
March 27, 2025, 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Want a job to help address the climate emergency? Want YOUR representatives in Parliament to make that a reality? Join the Vancouver Youth Climate Corps Town Hall! Hosted by youth from your community, we'll discuss the transformative potential of a Youth Climate Corps. It’s time for us to be part of the solution to climate change, while building real, green jobs for our generation!
With this town hall, we aim to highlight the intersection of climate action, affordability, and youth employment, all the while advocating for a Youth Climate Corps, a bold public program that would provide 2 years of training and guaranteed employment in climate work to any young person who wants it.
We want to center discussions on the YCC as an example of how climate action can create well-paying jobs, address cost-of-living concerns, and build solidarity between the climate movement and the working class. We also want elected officials to make this connection and listen to all the youth demanding this urgent climate solution. Bringing together students, climate and labour organizers, policymakers, and community members, the town hall will bridge lived experiences and political pressure to advance the Youth Climate Corps during this key political moment.
Come to the town hall for:
- A panel of community members working on we will have a guided discussion on the importance of funding a Youth Climate Corps this year
- Art in the form of graphic recording, an art gallery, and live music.
- Food shared in community
- Community conversation after the panel
- A chance to connect with elected representatives over the needs of youth in our community
Organized by the UBC Certificate in Climate Studies and Action, UBC Centre for Climate Justice, Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions, 312 Main, Ritmos Climáticos and Climate Justice UBC.
