Driving youth engagement and leadership in ocean and climate action across the Caribbean

October 4, 2024, 11:00 am to 12:00 pm

Seminar offered by the Institute for Oceans and Fisheries

In this presentation, Khadija Stewart will highlight the work of EcoVybz Environmental Creatives and EcoSeas Caribbean, two dynamic initiatives driving youth engagement and leadership in ocean and climate action across the Caribbean.

Through innovative storytelling, they are amplifying the voices of Caribbean youth, bringing their perspectives and solutions to the forefront of the climate conversation. Their work focuses on capacity building, equipping young people with the knowledge and skills they need to tackle pressing marine and environmental challenges. From mobilizing grassroots movements to leading art-based campaigns and hosting capacity-building workshops, EcoVybz and EcoSeas Caribbean are fostering a new generation of climate and ocean advocates dedicated to the preservation of the region's rich marine ecosystems and the fight for climate justice
