Climate Change and Conflict in Honduras: Building Community and Climate Resilience in the Dry Corridor
February 29, 2024, 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm
People living in the Dry Corridor region of Honduras are facing unprecedented challenges. Climate change has exacerbated poverty and social inequity while political and economic forces are stripping communities of their rights and options. Join us on February 29 at 6:30pm for an evening talk with Carlos Vijil Moreno at YWCA Hotel Vancouver.
This in-person event offers a unique opportunity to hear how climate change and social conflict are impacting communities in Honduras and why collaboration, solidarity and climate justice are critical.
Carlos will share insights on how Vecinos Honduras’s multi-year strategy builds trust and confidence in communities, expands knowledge, and consolidates local organizations to defend the rights of their communities.
