Care 102: Lessons from the Disability Justice Movement
March 26, 2025, 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm
The climate movement has a lot to learn from the disability justice movement. Building off Care 101, we will touch concepts of eco-ableism, crip time, care webs, and spoon theory. Participants will also be introduced to a second set of strategies for building robust, caring, and anti-ableist spaces. There will be opportunities to share knowledge & work through care-related challenges you/your group are facing!
Facilitated by Michelle Xie, a climate & disability justice organizer and sociology student at UBC. She is dedicated to creating resources and opportunities for personal & systemic transformation by building the social infrastructure, collective capacities, institutional accountability, and cross-movement solidarities needed to respond to polycrisis.
Organized by Michelle Xie and the Climate Justice Organizing HUB.
