Early Career Researcher Stream

The activities identified in the proposal must: 

• Be clearly climate-solutions focused; 

• Establish collaborative research directions or new research relationships either on or off campus; and/or 

• Contribute to new research and engagement activities with the goal of establishing or advancing a broader research program. 

The funding cannot be used for: 

• Add-ons to existing projects unless there is a new, clear direction;  

• Funding existing collaborations unless there is a new, clear direction; 

• Course development;  

• Teaching buyouts; 

• Travel that does not have a clear connection to research and engagement; or 

• Stand-alone events without an intention for further action (i.e. a one-time meeting without clear next steps). 

Within 12 months of receipt of this award, the successful applicant must submit a brief description of activities and how associated funds were used to meet the program objectives. 

Applications will open in April 2026 and will be due by the end of the month.
